A short afternoon walk through the Stara Planina village – Zaichar.
The village is picturesquely situated on one of the easternmost hills of Stara Planina in the northern slopes of Karnobat Mountain. It is located about 10 km west-southwest of the Bulgarian village Ruen and 10 km northwest of the town Aytos.
The Golyama River, a right tributary of the Luda Kamchia River, originates in the southern vicinity of the village.
Agriculture is concentrated on sheep, cows, tobacco and cereals.
In the village of Zaychar by 2020 there is: a functioning municipal primary school “Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov”, community center “Far – 1952” and a post office.
The population as of 2019 is 1110 people.
The surroundings around the village are extremely beautiful.
There is a large shelter nearby.
There is a dirt road to the White River, extremely pleasant to walk, especially during sunset.
