The Samodivski Lakes, is a small group of three lakes located in the Northern Pirin. It is no coincidence that they are considered one of the most beautiful lakes in Pirin. They are located between magnificent vegetation and beautifully shaped rocks.
Between them flows a small river, which forms a small waterfall between the two of them.
They are located between the peaks Dzhengal, Momin Dvor and Kralev Dvor. They are located at a very close distance from each other, in a small circus 620 m southwest of Popovo Lake.
They are situated at 2378.8, 2375 and 2372 m respectively.
The name of the Samodivski Lakes comes from the belief that at night mountain fairies come near them.
The uppermost of the lakes has a boat-like shape and measures 75 by 85 meters and covers an area of 3.20 acres. The second of the Samodivski Lakes resembles the shape of a kidney and is longer – 100 by 35 m or an area of 2.20 decares. The lowest of the three Samodivski Lakes is the smallest and its dimensions are 50 by 25 m. It is located on only one decare.
Samodivski Lakes are located along two major tourist routes: to Tevno Lake and Demyanitsa hut.
